Highlights 2021

This year was the second crazy year of the covid pandemic. The first year we became hermits, all of us, staying in our homes working eating sleeping. Anything we needed we had delivered. Thankfully this year we were able to be vaccinated and gained a little freedom.

Yup, not in California, its cold

First night found Peruvian Restaurant, OMG amazing.

Lots and lots of cafes

Drove to the town of Little Sisters, ...yeah time warp, no thanks.

Beautiful place, very white, but very positive inclusive vibe

A small city that grows during tourist seasons. Also very close to Silicon Valley still, but not sure there is any interesting work for young people.

Very close to Portland though.

Colorado Trip

June 2021

We flew to Denver then drove to Boulder, a really short flight. We stayed at our fav hotel, of course, the St Julien. We met our Realtor each day and she took us to a different area each time. Generally, the houses are big ... cuz you are inside in the winter? There is always a basement and it's often set up like its own little apartment already. I think, in the end, we liked Boulder the city itself ... university town, progressive, great energy, but the surrounding towns were just suburbia and not that fun. Big pluses include that you're in the flatirons foothills, you would never run out of trails, national parks, lakes, rivers to explore, rocky mountains, hot springs, close to Silicon Valley, still in the west.

Zion National Park Trip

October 14, 2021

First stop, an RV Park in an Orange Grove in Bakersfield California

Then we drove through a dust storm to stop in the center of Las Vegas Nevada for a night

Then we headed from Nevada across the tip of Arizona and into Utah.

It was cold in Zion National Park but wow our little Trailer was super cozy!

We picked up Ginah from the St George airport and she joined us for the rest of our adventure

We rented this fun new trailer for Ginah while in the park.

Chris, Ashley, kids and friends had an elaborate tent village

Casey Fur-Baby-Sitting again, and this time Winsor goes to the vet for his foot

After Ginah met us in Utah and we did some hiking, then we headed back to Las Vegas NV, and then on to Solvang CA

When we reached the coast of Southern California we stopped at our favorite Pismo Beach hotel

"Working" in the AC in Paso Robles July 2021

No commute means time for cooking yay

Working in your office at home means sharing your "art room" space so it could be a little distracting between meetings?

Experimenting with alcohol inks, acrylics, resin, texture... not everyone a keeper but all fun

Debra's Birthday

Dinner with my wife. Lunch with my daughter.

Vaccines arrived!!

April 2021

High Desert Southern California

We lost Ali this year, so we rented a travel trailer (before ours arrived) and drove to Todds in Phalen in the Victor Valley of the Mojave Desert for the memorial on May 1st

January 2021 Needle biopsy follow up on one of the 7 nodules on Debra's thyroid. All good still.

Also in 2020, my jaw locked up. Stress? Maybe, but it has always been a bit clonky. Not being able to open my mouth more than a centimeter or two and not being able to chew was very sad for a girl like me lol. It's much better but I don't think it will ever be "normal"
